CHESTNUT TREE SEEDLINGS
Does Money Grow On Trees?
You Bet it Does
Hi everyone, a little about myself. I started collecting hardwood tree seeds to process and sell for growing trees 24 years ago, around the year 2000. At the time I was employed both by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and was also a self employed farmer. We had livestock and row crops on the farm. My wife played a major role in keeping the farm productive.
In 2024, I myself collected 12 ton of various Oak tree seed and over 10,000 pounds of chestnut seed.
Now, I'll have to admit I don't consider Myself a tree hugger. However, I have a very real appreciation and understanding of the vital importance and role trees play in not only our environment but to our very existence. very, very important. As time lapses I'll continue to pass on more of my personal knowledge, research and understandings of how trees make and keep this world turning.

For Now, I wanted to let you all know that yes I do collect, process and pot Chestnut
seeds to sell as seedlings. Whether you need a couple trees for your yard or you want to create a grove of trees for future nut collection as a cash crop. At current prices with a planting rate of 120 trees per acre in commercial production, at an estimated 20 years old, income can inch near $10,000 per acre. Some producers think this number will increase with time. Myself , not sure.
